My dream outfit for field recording would be a soft armor of listening:
a loose, weathered cloak made from old speaker fabric, humming slightly with past sounds;
pockets lined with moss and rice paper to catch the quiet;
a hat woven from reeds and wire, tuned like an antenna to shifting winds;
barefoot or thin-soled shoes, to feel the ground’s secret rhythms.
Around my neck, a scarf dyed with riverwater and charcoal dust —
not just to protect from the elements, but to remind me to breathe like the forest.
